Kari Postma
Recently described in the press as "tenderness and emotional intelligence, singing nerves and pure expression cutting through the large orchestra", award-winning lyric dramatic soprano Kari Postma has performed on some of the most prestigious stages in Scandinavia and Europe, including roles at the Komische Oper Berlin, the Norwegian National Opera, Royal Danish Opera and as a member of the ensemble at the Staatsoper Hamburg. Further ahead she is scheduled to sing Violetta in La Traviata at Kristiansand Opera and make her role-debut in the title role in Catalani's La Wally at the Volksoper Wien.

In Hamburg she has sung Pamina, Adina, Zdenka, Nannetta, Musetta, Gretel, Ännchen, Susanna, Norina and Zdenka.

Season 2015/16 include the title-role in Willy Decker's staging of Katya Kabanova at the Norwegian National Opera, Tatyana in a co-production of Eugene Onegin between the Arctic Philharmonic and the Trondheim Symphony Orchestra, as well as concerts with the Hong Kong Philharmonic, Rotterdam Philharmonic, Aarhus Symphony Orchestra, Copenhagen Philharmonic, and performances of Strauss' Four Last Songs with Odense Symphony Orchestra in Denmark.

In most recent years, she has sung roles such as Donna Elvira in Don Giovanni, Contessa in the Marriage of Figaro, Violetta in La Traviata and Leonora in Il Trovatore, Mimì in La Bohème, Liú in Turandot and Rosalinde in Die Fledermaus.

Kari Postma is winner of the Queen Sonja International Music Competition, has won first prize in the International Phillips Music Competition, second prize and special prize of the Leipzig Opera in the Francisco Vinas International Singing Contest and was a finalist in the Montserrat Caballé International Singing Competition.
