Opus13 har de siste årene tatt det internasjonale musikkmiljøet med storm, og etablert seg som et kraftfullt og ambisiøst ensemble. Som vinnere av førsteprisen ved både Wigmore Hall International String Quartet Competition og Bordeaux International String Quartet Competition bygger de seg et stadig større omdømme, og er gjevnlig å høre på anerkjente scener over hele verden. Gruppen er oppkalt etter Mendelssohns ungdommelige og lidenskapelige A-moll strykekvartett, opus 13 – det første stykket de spilte sammen som kvartett.
Kvartetten er kjent for sine gnistrende formidlinger av både nye og gamle verk, og kveldens program er ingen unntak.
Denne kvelden får vi nemlig både kjente og kjære verk, som Griegs strykekvartett i G-moll, i tillegg til noe nytt og spennende i form av Britta Byströms Images From the Floating World. Med Mozarts “Dissonansekvartett” er programmet fullkomment – alt tyder på at dette blir en konsertopplevelse utenom det vanlige!

In recent years, Opus13 has taken the international music scene by storm and established itself as a powerful and ambitious ensemble. As first-prize winners at both the Wigmore Hall International String Quartet Competition and the Bordeaux International String Quartet Competition, they are building an ever-growing reputation and can regularly be heard on prestigious stages around the world. The group is named after Mendelssohn’s youthful and passionate String Quartet in A minor, Opus 13 – the first piece they played together as a quartet.
The quartet is known for its sparkling interpretations of both new and old works, and tonight’s programme is no exception.
This evening, we are treated to both familiar and beloved works, such as Grieg’s String Quartet in G minor, as well as something new and exciting in the form of Britta Byström’s Images From the Floating World. With Mozart’s “Dissonance Quartet”, the programme is complete – everything points to this being a concert experience out of the ordinary!
