Pierre Xhonneux er opprinnelig fra Belgia og arbeider som solo ess-klarinettist i Oslo-Filharmonien, samtidig som han underviser ved Barratt Due musikkinstitutt.
Han har sin utdanning fra Institut Supérieur de Musique et de Pédagogie i Namur, hvor han studerte med Jean-Luc Votano, og videre studier ved Conservatoire de Paris under Nicolas Baldeyrou. I tillegg har han fordypet seg i historiske klarinettinstrumenter ved konservatoriet i Gent.
Xhonneux har mottatt flere priser i internasjonale konkurranser, blant annet i Dexia Classics og Pacem in Terris. Ved siden av arbeidet i Oslo-Filharmonien er han en aktiv kammermusiker og medvirker jevnlig i Oslo Kammerakademi og andre ensembler i Norge og Belgia. I sesongen 2017/2018 var han også vikarierende soloklarinettist i Malmö Symfoniorkester.
Pierre Xhonneux is originally from Belgium and works as principal E-flat clarinettist with the Oslo Philharmonic Orchestra, whilst also teaching at the Barratt Due Music Institute.
He trained at the Institut Supérieur de Musique et de Pédagogie in Namur, where he studied with Jean-Luc Votano, and continued his studies at the Conservatoire de Paris under Nicolas Baldeyrou. In addition, he has specialised in historical clarinet instruments at the conservatoire in Ghent.
Xhonneux has received several prizes in international competitions, including Dexia Classics and Pacem in Terris. Alongside his work with the Oslo Philharmonic, he is an active chamber musician and performs regularly with the Oslo Chamber Academy and other ensembles in Norway and Belgium. During the 2017/2018 season, he also served as principal clarinettist with the Malmö Symphony Orchestra.
